Girls Club's annual field trip to the University of Arizona

On March 27, 2015 the Girls Club held their annual field trip to the University of Arizona. After touring the Arizona Health Sciences campus, the 24 students from a local elementary school received a fun and informative dental hygiene presentation from undergraduate students with the Canyon Ranch Center for Prevention and Health Promotion in the College of Public Health, learned about career opportunities in the field of health promotion through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion in the College of Medicine, and gained hands on experience in the surgery simulation lab.

Tucson Moves a Million Miles Press Conference

Development and Implementation of a Tailored Health Promotion Program for Middle-Age African American Men

Dr. Steven P. Hooker is a Professor in Exercise Science and Health Promotion and Assistant Director of Research in the School of Nutrition and Health Promotion at Arizona State University where he has been since 2011. Dr. Hooker’s research is focused on physical activity and aging, environmental and policy strategies to promote physical activity, and community-based participatory approaches to promote healthy lifestyles among midlife and older men.

CRCPHP welcomes ASHLine

We are excited to announce that the CRCPHP will be the new home for the ASHLine, the Arizona Smokers Helpline. ASHLine offers free telephone and Web-based services, in both English and Spanish, to help people quit tobacco. Located in the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health at the University of Arizona and funded by the state tax on tobacco products, ASHLine has been helping people quit tobacco since 1995.
