On February 1, 2020, Lindsay Bingham (Health Educator, Sr.) and YWCA Southern Arizona staff and promotoras trained several advocates from Mariposa Community Health Center in Nogales, AZ.
Six teen advocates, 2 adult advocates, and 1 program manager were trained in the 13-week Mujeres y Niñas (Mamas e Hijas) curriculum and learned facilitation and evaluation strategies. Mariposa Community Health Center plans to implement in March. More updates to come!
The program is currently in its 6th semester, operating at the YWCA Southern Arizona. By empowering women with knowledge and skills, we hope to end the cycle of violence.
